The T55 Java is more tightly wrapped sound wise with a lot of focus. Big excellent for a wide variety of playing situations, however I prefer (and am looking for) and great STM with a lot of 'zing' to the sound. Sax Big Lip, and I love the sound. It's bright but not too edgy, and it's a beautiful sax for the price. I'm using a Link Supertone 8 and Hard Rico Plasticovers. I've found that the plasticovers help to keep the brightness under control. Though, I wouldn't say their build is the best.New Francois Louis “Presentations”. There is a seemingly endless variety of new, high-quality, expertly manufactured mouthpieces from which to choose.

'Tone Booster' is the correct term for so-called 'resonators', or sound reflectors installed on pads to prevent the pad leather from absorbing the sound, so anyone using that term to describe some other part of a sax would, right off the bat, be causing tremendous confusion.The Performance (alto and tenor) has a more traditional post-to-rib-to-body. The Performance have a detatchable bell. And the neck profile (other than the bore) is very different, very Selmer-like (if not a Selmer-copy). Keys are different, key cups are very different. Even the key touches are different.The package I got form WWBW was the select Jazz Mouthpiece, ligature, and reeds. I thought the the Eastar sounded good until I tried my Martin. Wow this thing has a beautiful tone. Even with a complete novice like me blowing through it. I've been a musician all my life so I know a good tone when I hear it. High overtones are more like whistling through the sax than anything else. Mouthpieces I have and like: Otto Link Tone Edge (hard rubber) 7. Guy Hawkins (metal) 7. Both are .110. I had a Woodwind Educator, a great big wide open chamber hunk of good hard rubber, but with was dull, stuffy, and lifeless sound and response.
