I set up some mods for SDV on my steam deck a while back, there are plenty of tutorials to follow online so that was nice. As far as performance goes, I only downloaded some more mainstream mods like Stardew valley expanded and some recommended companion mods (which I assume are probably pretty well optimized and maintained compared to others) but everything ran really smoothly.
