Otis. If there's an issue that throws a code, all the lights come on (not just the check engine light as you would expect) in Subarus. Weird, but that's the way it's designed. Found something involving turning the engine on, then the lights on, pressing the Trip switch 4 times, then do the same after lights off/lights on again and 4 Trip presses, and that was for non-Crosstreks and about 6 years ago... Did not work, but maybe there's some method now to get the codes without a scanner for a 2019 Crosstrek.
