You can't get both on the same save, but you can make a copy of the save before the end of the quest if you want to do both easily. Both endings give you a different charm, and if you do the banishment ending, you won't be able to fight a very difficult boss.

The second option is to take Brumm's suggestion and return to where you first activated the quest and permanently banish the Grimm Troupe by destroying the Nightmare Lantern.I would banish, you can avoid the grimmkin nightmares, get a way better charm, a new NPC in dirtmouth, and you can still fight the boss immediately elsewhere. Not really. You'll just get a different charm than if you do the ritual and will have to get to Godhome if you want to fight NKG. It's definitely possible, I've beaten him, I don't mean to be rude but you just need to get better at the game (and maybe change your charms) to beat him. If you don't want to, you can just banish the grimm troupe if you talk to Brumm in the distant village and then go to the torch that started the DLC.
Yeah, for sure check first to see if you can recover your backup save first. If you want the charm and you can't get your save recovered, then you'll have to start a new game.
