I never had the pleasure of knowing the man, but I'm going to miss hearing his voice. My condolences to his family and loved ones.
I haven't seen much of the sub to directly compare, but I thought the English dub was really good. In particular, Billy Kametz (also the voice of Naofumi in Shield Hero and Josuke in JoJo part 4) voicing Shin was a perfect casting choice and he absolutely nailed the role.
