However, I also have a Realistic TRC432 base CB with a mic conversion plug for four pin to realistic which works well with other four pin mics. Originally they had no pre-amplifier in the base and the high impedence crystal element was a good match for the high impedence audio inputs of the tube rigs of the era. During the 1960's a pre-amplifier was added. This was more for matching the microphone element to the more modern rigs ... As I recall, the Heathkit HDP-121A required a Mic Level setting of 9-10 o'clock.... whereas the D-104 required a setting of 12-1:00 o'clock position setting. No issues with it... just need to remember to adjust it a bit higher when you decide to switch mics. The HW-101 handled either mic very well.Astatic made a several different low z heads for the G, UG, T-UG stands. Those will generally be in a bullet shape like the DN-50.
