I believe it is the factory PATS. Ford key fob and uses the guage cluster anti-theft light. I haven't seen any obvious aftermarket work on the car or wiring anywhere. And no the actual locks have nothing to do with it. I assume it is the fob disabling the pats that allows me to start and then the car re engages the pats without my input.
