You’re punished by being sent worse orders like $4.50 for 20 miles. You can decline but you’ll pay for it.

Car failure is one of the reasons a dasher can give doordash to explain why a delivery can't/won't be completed. Delivery companies seem to find that reason the most forgivable. I don't think there was a scam. I think your driver was delivering for multiple companies and the driver wasnt going to make your delivery in time.
