My dealer replaced the original clutch at 40 hrs. because it was getting hard to shift and jumping out of gear. I took it back to them last month after about 8 hrs use because of clutch noise especially when cold.

Don't know when I'll attempt the tear down. At the moment, just replaced the fuse box, installing second battery w/isolator. Installed front hitch plate and winch.I can hear the drive clutch click when it releases so I think it is releasing all the way. The new belt is the right part number. I read where the belt is directional so I made sure to mount it correctly. The new drive belt is 1 1/4 inches across the top which it should be. I have no idea if the clutch in your Gator version is the same as that in the 825i and 855D, but if it is, these clutches do present problems. I am seeking help for my 825i at the moment. Older Gator grinding gears. 2008-05-27 154001. Motor pulley is full out and not sticking. New belt. The transmission pulley still rotates when engine is at very slow idle. Can not idle down any further. you can stop the transmission pulley with your finger but its rotation is still enough to cause a grinding of the gears.
